How do I upload my company documents (e.g. SWMS or SDS)?
Submitting your company's compliance documents, such as a SWMS or SDS, for a project.
Before your crew starts on a new site, the head contractor will ask you to upload your company's safety documents, such as your SWMS and SDS. You do this through a link in their email. You don't need a Breadcrumb account to upload.
Upload your documents as early as you can. The head contractor needs to review and approve them before your crew can sign them on site.
Before you start
- The invite email: Look for an email from the head contractor asking you to upload your documents for their site. If you can't find it, check your junk folder, or ask the site team to send it again.
- Your files: Have each document ready as a PDF.
- Expiry dates: For documents that expire, such as an SDS or insurance certificate, have the expiry date handy.
Upload your documents
- Open the head contractor's email and click the upload link.
- You'll see the document types the head contractor needs from you for this site, for example SWMS and SDS.
- For each document, browse to the file on your computer or drag and drop it in.
- Fill in any details requested, such as the document name, version date or expiry date.
- Click Submit.
What happens next
- Review: Your documents go to the head contractor's site team for review.
- Approved: You'll get an email to let you know. Your documents are then available on site, and your crew may be asked to read and sign your SWMS when they check in.
- Rejected: You'll get an email with the reviewer's comments and a link to upload a fixed version.
Good to know
- Each site is separate: The link is for one site. If you're working on several of the head contractor's sites, you may need to upload documents for each one.
- Updating a document: If your SWMS changes, upload the new version through the same link. It goes through review again before your crew can sign it.
- Name your files clearly: Use names that say what the document covers, for example "Electrical works SWMS" or "Diesel SDS". Workers search for SDS by name on site.
- Can't upload? Email your documents to the head contractor's site team. They can upload them on your behalf.
