How do I update my notifications as a worker?

Managing which alerts you receive from Breadcrumb.

Breadcrumb can let you know when something needs your attention, for example when your permit has been reviewed or a new site briefing needs signing. You choose how you hear about each type of notification: in the app, by push notification or by email.

Change your notification settings

The steps are the same in the Breadcrumb app and on web at web.1bc.app.

  1. Tap or click the notification bell in the top right corner.
  2. Tap or click the settings (cog) icon.
  3. Tap or click Advanced to see all the options.
  4. For each type of notification, turn the options on or off.

Notification options

  • Enable: Shows the notification in your notification bell.
  • Email: Sends the notification to your email.
  • Push Notification: Sends an alert to your phone through the Breadcrumb app.

Good to know

  • Email notifications need an email address: Add your email to your profile to receive notifications by email.
  • Push notifications need phone permission: If you're not getting push notifications, check that notifications are allowed for the Breadcrumb app in your phone settings.
  • Site alerts by SMS: Urgent site alerts, such as an evacuation, are often sent as a text message to everyone checked in. These come from the site team and aren't controlled by your notification settings.
