How do I see and manage my permits?
Viewing the status of your submitted permits.
You can see every permit you've applied for on a site in the Breadcrumb app, check whether it's been approved, and open or pause it as your work goes on.
Before you start
You need to be checked in to the site.
View your permits
- Open the Breadcrumb app and check in to the site.
- Tap the Permit tile.
- Tap a permit to see its details and status.
What each status means
- Pending: Waiting for the site team to review it. Don't start work yet.
- Open: Approved and active. You can carry out the work.
- On Hold: Approved, but work is paused or hasn't started yet. Open it when you're ready to begin.
- Closed: The work is complete and the permit can't be used again.
- Rejected: The permit wasn't approved. You'll need to apply for a new one.
You'll get a notification in the app when the site team reviews your permit.
Manage your permit
Open a permit
When you're ready to start the work, open the permit from the Permit tile and tap Open. If the permit has an open form, you'll be asked a few questions first, such as confirming safety equipment is in place.
Put a permit on hold
When you stop work, for example at the end of the day or once the job is done, tap On Hold. If the permit has an on-hold form, you'll be asked to complete it, for example to confirm the area has been left safe.
Closing a permit
When the work is finished, the site team checks the area and closes the permit. Once it's closed, it can't be reopened, so if you need to do more work, apply for a new permit.
Good to know
- Permits are per site: You'll only see permits for the site you're checked in to.
- Check your permit times: Your permit is set up for the dates and times you applied for. If your plans change, talk to the site team.
