How do I review a workers induction forms?

Checking a worker's completed induction responses.

Every induction a worker submits is saved with their answers and any files they uploaded, such as licences or tickets. You can open it at any time to check what they answered. If your induction needs host approval, you also accept or reject it from here.

Before you start

You need to be a Company Host or Site Host for the site. To accept, reject or request changes, you also need permission to approve inductions. If you don't have access, contact your Breadcrumb administrator.

Find a worker's induction

There are two ways in, depending on whether you're starting from the site or the person.

From the site's Inductions tab

  1. Click Sites in the left-hand menu and open your site.
  2. Click the Inductions tab.
  3. Search for the worker, or use the filters to narrow by status, company or date.
  4. Click the induction to open it.

From the worker's profile

  1. Open your site and click the People tab.
  2. Search for the worker and click their name.
  3. Click the Inductions tab on their profile.
  4. Click the induction to open it.

The induction opens as a PDF showing every question, the worker's answers and any files they attached. You can download it from here.

Accept or reject a pending induction

If your induction uses host approval, new submissions show as Pending until a host reviews them.

  1. Open the pending induction from the site's Inductions tab.
  2. Click Review Now.
  3. Check the worker's answers and attachments.
  4. Click Accept, or click Reject and add a comment explaining what needs fixing.
  • Accept: The induction is marked as approved.
  • Reject: The induction goes back to the worker to fix in their Breadcrumb app. When they resubmit, it shows as Pending again.

To see pending inductions across all your sites in one place, use Approvals in the left-hand menu.

Ask for changes to an approved induction

If you spot a problem after an induction is approved, for example an expired licence, you can send it back.

  1. Open the approved induction.
  2. Click Request Changes and add a comment.

The status changes to Changes Requested and the worker updates it in their app. Once they resubmit, it returns as Pending for review.

Good to know

  • Editing answers yourself: On web you can view, accept and reject inductions, but you can't edit a worker's answers for them. To correct an answer on a worker's behalf, use the Breadcrumb mobile app.
  • Turning on host approval: Whether an induction needs approval is set by your administrator when the induction is created.
