How do I register plant and equipment on site?
Registering a piece of plant or equipment you are bringing to a site.
If you're bringing plant or equipment onto a site, such as an excavator, EWP, scissor lift or generator, the head contractor may need you to register it in the Breadcrumb app. The site team then reviews it before it's used on site.
Before you start
- Be checked in: You need to be checked in to the site.
- Have the plant with you: You'll need to take a photo of it and fill in some details, such as its condition and any service or inspection information the site asks for.
Register your plant
- Open the Breadcrumb app and check in to the site.
- Tap the Manage Site Assets tile.
- Tap Register New Asset and choose the Asset Registration Form.
- Choose how to add the item (see below).
- Fill in the required details, such as the name of the plant and whether it's in working condition.
- Take a photo of the plant, or choose one from your phone's gallery.
- Tap Create New Asset to submit.
Choosing how to add the item
- Select Existing Asset: If the item has been registered before, search for it and select it, so you don't create a duplicate.
- Create a New Asset: For plant or equipment that isn't already listed.
- Register Short Term Asset: For hired equipment that will only be on site for a short time.
What happens next
Your registration goes to the site team for review. Depending on the site's settings, it may be approved automatically. If the site team needs more information, they'll let you know.
Good to know
- Each site is separate: If you move plant to another site, you'll need to register it on that site too.
- Can't register it yourself? Ask the site team. They can register plant on your company's behalf.
- Operating the plant: Some sites also need operators to complete a separate form before using the plant. The site team will tell you if this applies.
