How do I manage the permits on my site?
Viewing and actioning all active and pending permits for a site.
Your site's Permits tab shows every permit for the site in one place, from new applications waiting for review to permits that are open, on hold or closed. Use it to see what high-risk work is happening on site and what needs your attention.
Before you start
You need to be a Company Host or Site Host for the site. To accept or reject permits, you also need permission to approve them. If you don't have access, contact your Breadcrumb administrator.
Open your site's permits
- Click Sites in the left-hand menu and open your site.
- Click the Permits tab.
Filter the list
- Status tiles: Click a tile across the top to show only permits with that status, such as pending or open.
- Dropdown filters: Narrow the list by date, permit type and more.
What each status means
- Pending: A new application waiting for a host to review it. Work shouldn't start yet.
- Open: Approved and active. Work is underway.
- On Hold: Approved and active, but work has paused, for example overnight.
- Closed: The work is complete. A closed permit can't be reopened.
Action a permit
Review a pending permit
- Click the pending permit, then click Review Now.
- Check the application and click Accept or Reject.
An accepted permit becomes Open or On Hold, depending on how the permit form is set up. A rejected permit is finished, and the subcontractor needs to submit a new application.
Download a permit
Click any permit to open it and download it as a PDF, for example for an audit or to share with a client.
Close a permit
Permits are closed in the Breadcrumb mobile app, not on web. This is so the work area can be checked and photographed on site before the permit is closed.
Good to know
- Permits across all your sites: Use the company Permits register to see permits from every site you have access to, or Approvals to see everything waiting for review.
- Procore: If your site is connected to Procore, permits sync to Procore Documents automatically. Click the Procore link on a permit to open it there.
