How do I edit my site setting templates?

How to update the default settings, such as forms, permissions and notifications, applied whenever a new site is created.

Site templates hold the default settings that get applied whenever a new site is created from them, such as forms, permissions and notifications. Keeping your templates up to date means every new site starts with the right setup, without anyone having to configure it from scratch.

This guide shows you how to find your templates and update their settings on web.

Before you start

Permissions: You need Company Host permissions to edit site templates. If you don't have access, contact your Breadcrumb administrator.

Where: Templates can only be edited in the web portal. This isn't available in the mobile app.

Tips for managing templates

  • Give templates clear names. If you run different types of projects, a name like "Commercial fit-out" or "Residential build" makes it easy for your team to pick the right one when setting up a site.
  • Review templates when your processes change. If you add a new induction form or change who gets notified, update your templates so new sites pick it up straight away.
