How do I check-in to a site?

Check in every time you arrive on site. It lets the site team know you're there, keeps you on the roll call in an emergency, and makes sure you've seen the latest site information.

Before you start

Download the Breadcrumb app and log in with your mobile number. The first time you check in to a site, allow extra time to complete the site induction.

Check in by scanning the site QR code

This is the quickest way. Look for the Breadcrumb QR code poster at the site entrance or in the site office.

Open your phone's camera, or open the Breadcrumb app and tap Scan QR.
Point your phone at the site QR code.
Follow the prompts on screen (see below).
Tap Check-in to finish.

Check in from the app

If you can't find the QR code, check in from the app instead.

Open the Breadcrumb app and tap Check-In on your profile screen.
Choose the site from the list and tap Confirm.
Follow the prompts on screen.
Tap Check-in to finish.

What you may be asked to do

Depending on the site, check-in may ask you to:

Choose who you're working for: Select your company from the list.
Complete the site induction: Usually only the first time, unless your induction has expired.
Answer check-in questions: For example, confirming you're fit for work.
Read and sign documents: Such as your company's SWMS, the daily pre-start or a toolbox talk.
View site updates: Announcements from the site team.

Other ways to check in

Site kiosk: Some sites have a tablet at the entrance. Tap Check In on the kiosk and follow the prompts.
Ask the site team: If you don't have your phone, a site manager can check you in on their device.
Automatic check-in: After your first check-in, some sites let the app check you in automatically when you arrive, if you've allowed location access.

Good to know

Check out when you leave: Always check out at the end of the day, so the site team knows you're off site.
Can't see the site? Make sure location services are on for the Breadcrumb app, or scan the site QR code instead.
