How do I check-in a worker on my site?

Manually checking a worker in to the site on their behalf.

Sometimes a worker turns up without their phone, or their phone can't run the Breadcrumb app. You can check them in yourself using your own device, so they're still recorded as on site.

Checking someone in this way doesn't change anything for next time. They can still check in on their own phone in future.

Before you start

  • You need Company Host or Site Host permissions, with Host Checkin turned on. If you don't have this, ask your Breadcrumb administrator.
  • Have the worker with you. They'll need to use your device to complete any inductions or paperwork for the site.

Check in a worker in the mobile app

  1. Tap the Host panel in the bottom right.
  2. Make sure the right site is selected. If it isn't, tap Change Site.
  3. Tap the Host Check-In tile.
  4. Enter the worker's mobile number, with no spaces. If they already have a Breadcrumb account, their name appears. If not, enter their first and last name.
  5. Tap Check In.
  6. Choose their Visitor Type and add their Supplier (the company they work for) if needed.
  7. Hand the worker your device so they can complete any inductions or paperwork.
  8. Tap the orange Check In button to finish.

Other ways to check someone in

The Host Check-In screen also lets you:

  • Show Site QR Code: show your site's QR code on your screen so the worker can scan it with their own phone.
  • Scan User QR Code: scan the QR code on the worker's Breadcrumb profile to check them in.
